The Declaration of Independence was all about liberty. The American Revolution was all about liberty. The Constitution is all about liberty, and the Bill of Rights is all about liberty. Obviously, the founders intended the US Government to be all about liberty.
Instead of getting bogged down in the minutiae of arguing over the merits of a particular candidate, legislation, regulation, tax, or other government action, we should ask one question, and one question only: "Does this action enhance or diminish individual liberty?"
If the answer is "enhance", then we should do it. If the answer is "diminish" (another word for "infringe") then we cannot, and must not do it. It's as simple as that.
It is imperative that we keep the national dialog centered on that single, simple question, and honest answers to it.

Why Do I Allow Advertising on This Site?
Because I am a capitalist! Duh!
Advertising on this site is automatically targeted based on the subject matter on this page. The targeting software is not quite smart enough to discern that most of the ads are for ways to get free money from a government that is doing things that it has no business doing. Redistributing wealth is not one of the Enumerated Powers in the Constitution. It is completely at odds with the theme of this web site.
We have businesses that have grown up around the fact that the US Government is out of control. We the People are supposed to control the US Government, not the reverse. As long as these advertisements appear on my web page, I will use it as a teaching opportunity.

OK, Here's the Deal
The US Government is severely and grossly out of spec with the Enumerated Powers listed in the US Constitution. Any government that refuses to honor the contract between itself and We the People is untrustworthy and dangerous. Things have been getting gradually worse for a long time, with major inflection points during FDR's presidency, again during LBJ's presidency, and now the rampage that Barack Obama and this congress are inflicting on our individual liberty.
We are 100 years late for a constitutional uprising. I am not talking about a violent uprising (unless the kakistocrats do not back down peaceably). But we have to take back 100 years of government encroachment on the liberty guaranteed in the Constitution. If you look at the size and scope and oppressiveness of the US Government today, you can see that bringing it back into compliance with the Constitution is a daunting job, both politically and socially. People have become dependent on big government, and they have to be weaned off of it. Please see my proposal for a Limited Government Amendment to the US Constitution, permanently posted at the bottom of this page.
