Barack Obama prefers communism to capitalism, free markets and private property rights. He is more than a sympathizer; he is an enabler.

The argument goes that the US embargo against Cuba hurts the common folks, while giving their oppressors a scapegoat. That might be true if it weren't for the fact that the US is about the only country that wasn't trading with Cuba. We'll see if Cuba stops being a hell hole once we resume trading with them. I'm betting Cuba will still suck after the embargo is lifted. Seen Mexico lately?

I predict that Barack Obama will accelerate this kind of imperial, unilateral, unconstitutional action in the remaining years of his presidency. If we still have an operative Constitution left when he's done, I'll be eternally grateful to a most merciful God.

When All Else Fails, Manipulate the Data

According to the New York Times (of all places), after decades of collecting health insurance statistics, the US Census is going to change the metrics, at exactly the same time a major change in health insurance policy is taking place. What scientist or statistician does that, unless their intent is to hide the true effects of this change? (The vulgar term for hiding the truth is called "fraud", as in "the regime is a fraud", or "the King is a fink!"

This is the lowest our government has ever sunk, the worst regime in my lifetime, and I lived through the Nixon years! Where are the torches and pitchforks?

Government Control vs. Freedom

I believe that control is the opposite of freedom. How can it not? But I am not an anarchist. With no government, it would be up to us to stand at our front door with a shotgun, to ward off all aggressors, leaving no leisure time (and probably little time to mind our own business, in fact). Kind of like Walking Dead, without the zombies. So limited government -- just enough to secure the natural rights we were born with -- is necessary.

But today I find myself spending an inordinate amount of time defending my rights against the very regimes that were supposed to protect them. It is eating up my leisure time, and what goes on while I'm at work goes unmonitored. They steal from my pantry while I'm out plowing my fields. What's more, they use their plunder against me, giving my tax dollars to grant-grubbing special interests whom I oppose, who advocate enacting more policy that further reduces my freedom. The bulk of said plunder doesn't even go to help the people the pandering politicians pretend to want to help.

I attend city and county council meetings. State and federal legislature meetings are too far away and are too full time for me to monitor directly. But I've seen the sausage being made, and I think if you were really aware of what goes on in there, you'd be alarmed as well. Even some of the ones on "our side" (whichever side that happens to be) don't understand the proper role of government.

Don't even get me started on administrative bureaucracies that by definition, aren't responsible to the voters. They enact regulations having the force of law, but we have no recourse. We can't vote them out. That is not government by the consent of the governed! The fact is, the government we have bears no resemblance whatsoever to the mechanisms that were invented to keep us safe. It's Fahrenheit 451, without the fire trucks.

Fisking The President's Graduation Address

A Real Clear Politics headline reads, Obama To Grads: Reject Voices That Warn About Government Tyranny. Here, I respond to part of his address, line by line (fisking):

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Unfortunately, you've grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that's at the root of all our problems.

ME: Not as long as you follow The Constitution, sir.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They'll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices.

ME: Tyranny is always lurking just around the corner. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The founders deliberately tried to limit the power of the branches of government. Inefficiency was built-in. Gumming up the works is a GoodThing^TM! We should never reject those voices. We must be vigilant of our government. Trust but verify. The Constitution can't uphold and defend itself. We the People have to demand it!

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Because what they suggest is that our brave, and creative, and unique experiment in self-rule is somehow just a sham with which we can't be trusted.

ME: As long as it remains self-rule, that is. But we are now ruled by massive bureaucracies and usurpers who have assumed far more authority than The Constitution allows.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: We have never been a people who place all our faith in government to solve our problems. We shouldn't want to. But we don't think the government is the source of all our problems, either.

ME: It's rapidly getting that way. You don't seem at all constrained by The Constitution. You seem to operate on the premise that it's easier to get forgiveness than permission.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Because we understand that this democracy is ours.

ME: This is not a democracy. This is a representative republic. You work for us. You represent us.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: And as citizens, we understand that it's not about what America can do for us, it's about what can be done by us, together, through the hard and frustrating but absolutely necessary work of self-government. And class of 2013, you have to be involved in that process.

ME: Finally something I can agree with, Mr. President.

And yet, the families' loved ones are still dead. What is the statute of limitations for things like this?

The Regime might want to consider those things before being so quick to write this off.

You Have Been Warned

It's probably photoshopped, because I doubt that any government these days actually supports the Second Amendment. It represents a threat to them (as it was intended). They would never put up a sign like this.

Actually, the Second Amendment was intended as a threat to oppression and tyranny. If our government feels threatened by the Second Amendment, what does that tell you about our government?

Update: What is oppression and tyranny? That is when someone makes you do things you don't want to do, and takes things from you that you don't want to give up. How is that different from violent crime? It isn't! Someone making you hand over your wallet at gunpoint is oppressing you, tyrannizing you. If you had a gun, you could resist this tyranny. And here's the beautiful part: even if they didn't know if you had a gun, you could resist this tyranny. The Second Amendment guarantees your natural right to resist tyranny. A government that infringes on that right is by definition, tyrannical. Don't be fooled.

Class Warfare Works Both Ways

President Obama is trying to create a culture of makers vs. takers in this country, using the unauthorized force of government to redistribute wealth from the ones who produce it to the ones who don't. What he doesn't understand is that wealth redistributes itself! What does he think the rich do with their money? Smoke it? No, they spend it! They invest it! That spending and investing creates jobs, creates wealth, and distributes it to those who need it and want it. It isn't rocket science. Of course, it does mean that everyone has to contribute something to society in order to get a piece of the pie. Just by participating in the free market, I'm paying my "fair share". Slackers get bupkis.

Don't. Stop. Thief.

I'm not rich. I'm not even halfway to the magic $250,000.00 or whatever annual income it is that supposedly makes one rich. But I do not condone taking by force what anyone else has rightfully earned. That's called theft, and it's illegal unless you're the government. And it isn't sustainable. Too bad the takers won't even understand what caused the economic death spiral we're facing. No doubt, they'll blame it on the steadily diminishing "rich", whomever they are. In a shrinking economy, everyone has to work harder just to stay even, including the takers, who will be getting less money for nothing. In the end, the only rich people will be government employees and holders of high office -- who produce nothing, just like it was back in the USSR. I'm afraid there's no way to fix this at the ballot box anymore. The makers will have to subvert the establishment.

This class warfare works both ways. I work hard to obtain enough wealth to get what I need, and maybe a little more to enjoy life, and maybe put something away to live comfortably in my declining years. I will be most resentful of those who sabotage the economy by encouraging government forcibly to redistribute my earnings to someone who thinks they're entitled simply because I'm more industrious, more talented, luckier, or less lazy than they are. I'll happily and voluntarily share what I can afford with anyone who is down on their luck, and doesn't think I owe them anything. But the ungrateful takers can kiss my jump in a lake. I'm not uncharitable, but I'm no chump, either.

Barack Obama's Weird Socialism -- The Movie

Last night, I went to see 2016: Obama's America. It's the first time I've set foot in a movie theater since I became disgusted by the high cost to view the overt left wing propaganda and gratuitous culture rot that Hollywood passes off as entertainment.

Within days of first listening to Barack Obama speak, and watching his presidential campaign unfold, I diagnosed him as a self-serving socialist sociopath. That brings us pretty close to having him figured out, but not entirely.

During Barack Obama's 2008 campaign, and early in his first term, many people were puzzled by his "apology tour", and with his apparent obsession with taking America down a notch on the world stage. Even while most socialist nations are quite nationalistic (e.g., Nazi Germany -- "Nazi" is the German-language diminutive for "National Socialist"), and the USSR (The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) was certainly aggressively nationalistic, Obama seems to want to implement a kind of meek socialism for the United States. It seems weird until you see the movie, 2016: Obama's America. I have read Dinesh D'Souza's articles about Barack Obama's dreams from his father before, so this wasn't news to me, but many people are getting this information for the first time.

Barack Obama senior was a rabid Kenyan anti-colonialist. He may have been justified to some degree. As Dinesh points out, our founders were also anti-colonialists. Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin and others resented British colonialism in America. The dominant (some may say "hip") political ideology at the time was The Enlightenment, a.k.a., Classical Liberalism, which is where we got our founding principles of natural law, freedom and individual liberty, as most elegantly expressed in The Declaration of Independence and embodied in The Constitution of the United States.

The big difference with modern anti-colonialists is that the current hip political ideology is collectivism, a.k.a., communism, a.k.a., socialism. Once you understand that Barack Obama is attempting to fulfill his father's obsession, on which Obama has doubled down by obsessing over his father, then you understand Obama's agenda. The odd thing is, the United States was not founded on principles that would promote colonialism. Naturally as a world power, we do sometimes have to exert more influence worldwide than we might like, but as Colin Powell noted in 2003,

We have gone forth from our shores repeatedly over the last hundred years and we've done this as recently as the last year in Afghanistan and put wonderful young men and women at risk, many of whom have lost their lives, and we have asked for nothing except enough ground to bury them in, and otherwise we have returned home ... to live our own lives in peace.

For Barack Obama though, it doesn't help that he was mentored by communist, anti-colonialist, anti-American tutors, radical friends, radical ministers and radical professors. It isn't surprising that we have the most radical, most anti-American, anti-capitalist president in US history. What is stunning is that the media has so far downplayed these influences.

Fortunately, the movie 2016: Obama’s America has stunned Hollywood, opening at #1 in theaters on Friday. People will see it, and get the information that the mainstream media has strenuously attempted to suppress.

Free Stuff

This has been going around the internet as a perpetually forwarded email.

The folks who are getting the free stuff don't like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.

And, the folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop.

And the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now... the people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff have told the people who are RECEIVING the free stuff that the people who are paying for the free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.

So... the people who are getting the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first place. We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this. All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded.

The reason?

The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 236 years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff.

We have one chance to change that in 2012. Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

Actually, last I heard, the US still has 49% receiving free stuff, and 51% paying for free stuff. So we're still barely above break-even, although I suppose it depends on how you account for it all.

A Great Society does not create a helpless, dependent class (The 99 Percent) with only a few producers (The One Percent -- slaves, essentially) to provide for them. That's not a Great Society, it's a Pathetic Society. A Great Society has no classes; it is simply a collection of self-sufficient individuals working at whatever level each is capable of, and who voluntarily help the less fortunate, while keeping them responsible for themselves, and guarding against malingerers and unscrupulous opportunists.
